DESCRIPTION:The Town of Scituate\, Scituate FACTS Coalition and South Shore Peer Recovery announce the 8th Annual Sunrise Vigil on International Overdose Awareness Day\, Tuesday\, August 31\, 2023. The Scituate service is open to all communities and will acknowledge police officers\, firefighters\, emergency room workers\, individuals in recovery\, and members of the\n\ncommunity groups who have been working to reduce fatal overdoses and help those who still suffer.\n\n\n\nThe non-sectarian service will begin at 5:45am on the jetty\, and will include words of remembrance from family members\, and acoustic music performed by local musicians. Information on grief support\, Narcan access\, as well as substance use treatment and recovery resources\, will be available before and after the service in the resource tent in the parking lot.
